Our pregnant dogs have their diet supplemented with raw venison and chicken along with, fresh vegetables, from the first time they are bred, thru their entire pregnancy and while they are lactating.

At 4 weeks old and while our puppies are still nursing we introduce them to a homemade formula.

Week 5 our puppies are served a gruel consisting of homemade formula and dog food.

By week 6 our puppies are eating the same food that the adult dogs are eating. Our dog food of choice is Vets Choice Holistic Health Extension Original.
This formula is a life cycle food that is free of preservatives, corn, wheat, glutens, soy, sugar, by-products, rendered animal fats, artificial flavors, colors or dyes, BHT, Ethoxyquin, or artificial preservatives.

East German shepherds are working dogs and they enjoy exercise. We strongly recommend incorporating some form of exercise with your dog into your daily activities.
